1. When a job is 50% complete
a. So much energy was expended to get there
b. That it can be a time of physical exhaustion
c. As well as a time of mental burnout
2. So much initial work had been completed
a. Yet a lot of work still needs to be done
3. It can be a time when the people
a. Are satisfied with the work completed
b. And so are NOT super-motivated
c. To continue at the same pace
4. It was also difficult to continue building
a. Because there was so much rubble in the way
5. Discuss the following in light of this verse:
a. What would you biblically categorize as rubble?
b. Can a church advance if there is rubble in the way?
c. Can a church just preach Jesus and hope the rubble goes away?
d. Does a church need to remove its rubble before it can continue?
6. The following are steps for an effective church
a. To concentrate and focus on the essentials
b. Doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer (Acts 2:42)
c. And to avoid as much “rubble” as possible
