1. This report is clearly designed to scare us
a. To cause us to lose any hope of deliverance
2. The enemy wants us to believe
a. That the work we are doing for God
b. Is doomed to failure
c. And that our enemies will be victorious
3. Their threats are designed
a. To keep us awake at night
b. To fear for the lives of us and our families
4. David also experienced this but recognized God‘s power
a. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety (Ps 4:8)
