This was explained at bible study by my pastor as giving respect to Philemon’s wife and son as women were treated differently than today. And that some churches were held in homes.

Where did Philemon come from? We were studying this book of the Bible and we can’t figure out where Paul met him in the first place. Did he know him before he wrote the letter?
Was Onesimus always with Philemon or Paul? any help would be appreciated.
