1. Wisdom is the Hebrew word ‗hokmah‘ meaning skill
a. Skillful and successful in one‘s relationships and responsibilities
b. Observing and following God‘s principles of order
c. In the moral universe
2. We learn Proverbs for at least 3 reasons:
a. To perceive the BEST COURSE of action
b. To do it the BEST WAY possible
c. And to do it at the BEST TIME
3. We are to promote the discipline of our mind
a. With clear and distinct ideas
b. Of wisdom as opposed to folly
4. We are to watch others and discern their words of insight
a. As they help us distinguish between truth and error
b. To teach us to guard against making mistakes in life
