One Bible Commentary on Proverbs 20: 16

1

1. I can see this verse going at least two different ways
a. If you are doing business with someone
i. Who has co-signed for another
b. You better get a huge down payment from him
i. Lest he default on his loan as a result
2. The second way I can see this going
a. In order to protect a co-signer
i. From losing everything
b. You better take possession of some of his belongings
i. So that he does not lose everything
ii. Especially if “a woman” is involved
