1. I can see this verse going at least two different ways
a. If you are selling something to someone
i. Who has co-signed for a 3rd party
b. You better get a huge down payment from him FIRST
i. Lest he default on his loan with the 3rd party
c. If you are doing business with someone
i. Who is emotionally invested in another project
d. You ALSO need to get a large deposit
i. Before it might all be lost
2. The second way I can see this going
a. In order to protect a co-signer
i. You better take possession of some of his belongings
ii. So that he does not lose everything
b. This will be especially true
i. If his emotions are involved
