a. That what we have NOW
b. Is NO LONGER good enough
3. Advertisers seize on our fleshly lusts
a. With NEW cars, NEW TVs, NEW computers
b. NEW shoes, NEW dresses, NEW appliances
4. One definition of ECONOMICS itself
a. Is how to manage limited resources
b. In a world of UNLIMITED wants
5. Scripture does NOT say that desire is wrong
a. As if we were NOT to enjoy
b. The material blessings of life
6. But we are not to OBSESS or be COVETOUS
a. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content (1 Time 6:7-8)
b. Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb 13:5)
