1. A parent may think they are doing a good thing
a. Such as being the cosigner for a car loan for their child
2. Now if you have the financial resources to cover the debt
a. And are willing to take the financial hit
b. If your child defaults on the loan
c. Then that is a choice
d. That YOU will have to make
3. But if you cosign for a debt
a. That you KNOW you can NOT cover
4. Then you need to do everything you can
a. To get out of that loan situation
5. It will lead to financial calamity at the least
a. And ruined relationships at worst
