6 Bible Commentaries on Psalms 1: 2
@ Tiuche - I’m not trying to be mean, but talking to you is like talking to a brick wall - you just do NOT get it… it’s like you are living in the Old Testament and still clinging to the TORAH but adding Jesus to it… this is akin to pouring new wine into old wineskins - trying to make New Testament truths fit into an Old Testament paradigm… I blame your cultic and Law-oriented formative education that you have not grown past that - get into a solid New Testament church and learn!!
If I were an Old Testament believer, I would endeavor to keep ALL the Torah - no shellfish, Sabbath-keeping, no mixing of linens, etc…
But the Old Covenant is GONE - it has DECAYED and ROTTED away, just like the writer of Hebrews said it would (probably for good in 70AD) (Heb 8:13)
The ONLY vestige of the Old Covenant that remains in any fashion is the MORAL LAW which actually pre-dates the MOSAIC LAW anyway, for the MORAL LAW is a UNIVERSAL written on the hearts of ALL men!!
So when I read the Old Testament, I put it in its proper perspective or place, just like Paul wrote when he said we ‘establish’ the Law… The Law is good, holy, just, but we are neither JUSTIFIED nor SANCTIFIED by it… it was ultimately given to point us to Jesus!!
Tiuche - do you have any local Christian friends with whom you have deep fellowship and can hash these things out?
Do you have anybody other than the folks here with whom you can sharpen iron?
The ADMIN has been very kind to allow us to misuse this site and treat it more like a FORUM than simply posting COMMENTARY… I’m looking forward to when they revamp this www site…
But I’m going to have to recuse myself from our witty repartee, buddy, and press on with commentary…

Tractorman: It is not me you are going against it is the WORD especially Psalm 1:2. What doctrinal irony!
He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. Are you exempted from this warning?
Christ the end of the Law- does the best understand that? Why won’t we discuss it if you are indeed for what is true?
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”—Romans 10:4.

Sorry Tiuche - but Christ is the end of the Law, so instead of meditating upon the dietary and social laws of the Torah, I will instead meditate upon the Person and Work of Jesus!!

NOW IF YOU WHO RECEIVE CHRIST AS SAVIOR DOES NOT MEDITATE UPON THE LAWS OF GOD reasoning for yourself that since you walk in the spirit therefore there is now no condemnation for you…and you think even if you do not study His Laws -His Words-you are totally guided by His Spirit through some AUTOMATIC thing…do you think you could effectively walk in the spirit of God?
Will you even understand what it is to walk in the Spirit and not in the letter if you do not meditate upon His Words and Laws? Would such a man be bless? What does the scriptures advice us?
Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

King James Version
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

TO DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LAW OF GOD IS TO BE MISINTERPRETED AS A LEGALIST
Today in the day of so called enlightenment and info flooding…men are the more bewildered with all kinds of “spirit” running in their brain…garbage in garbage out…from their minds…and they think they are so bright…
“Ignorance, arrogance…. has bloomed as superior knowledge in too many universities, wrote Alice Walker (1941-)..
And delighting oneself in the Law of God as revealed in the holy scriptures could drew flaks from all corners…you are a legalist…you are a yoke monger…a bewitcher…some would even attacked you with pointed objects or pressure you through governemtn sanctions…persecute you harshly…
Many bible student would think you want them to walk in the letter of the Law, without first knowing what you really are saying… is walking in the intent of the Law…
But one thing they forget that a good understanding have they that obey His commandments…and Jesus calls you His friend!

Tractorman: Yours is not a kind word to me- just because I differ to you in the opinion regarding the Law- you accuse me of being a cult? How many are you in your fellowship? A hundred- a thousand? Would you know that I came from a fellowship 90,000 plus strong? But we are not talking here about popularity or majority-we are here for the Truth! So don’t give me that crap of accusing me of being a lone ranger or from a cultic fellowship coz whEN you talk like that you are showing your intolerance! It is as if that all the doctrine you believe in is the Truth-while those who would disagree with you is espousing a false doctine! Whoa! That is laughable!
We are here to discuss things-to search for the truth! Now if I question your doctrines, why keep an accusing finger that it is wrong without proving it! You are the one who keeps on commenting against my posts- like you are a Ratzinger or something.
My comment you think are poisons? Do you know why the Admin allows it? It is because the Admin believes in the liberty of conscience which it seems you are trying to condemn here! You attacked me with false accussation like of being a cult-like lone ranger! So what if i am a cult? So what if i am a lone ranger? Why won’t you just debate me and answer my post. Or if you think i am wrong just post it something or just ignore mine ‘UNLEARNED COMMENTS”!
The Lord judge between us!
