The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

(1) The meaning of the Hebrew word “Messiah” is “Anointed one” or ” The Anointed.” The equivalent Greek word is “Christos”(Khristos) & the English word is Christ.
(2)Prophets(1 Kings 19:16),priests(Ex,28:41)& kings (1 Sam.10:1,16:13) have been anointed.Jesus Christ holds all these three offices.He is King of kings.Dan.2:47;1 Tim.6:15;Rev.19:16.
(3)After becoming the disciple of Jesus,Andrew told his brother Peter that they had found the Messias,which was interpreted the Christ.John 1:41.The Samaritan woman told Jesus about the coming of Messias,which was called Christ.John1:25.
(4)In Psalms 2 & 110,we find prophesies of the Messianic rule.The writer of Hebrews used the quotations from both the Psalms.
(5)The early Church,when it was persecuted & faced opposition prayed to God quoting Psalm 2:1,2.Read Acts 4:25,26.
(6)The disciples applied Psalm 2:1,2 to their situation & said in prayer that Herod & Pontius Pilate gathered together with the Gentiles & the people of Israel against Jesus Christ.Acts 4:27.They prayed that God’s word must be preached boldly by the servants of God.
(7)We have to pray for kings & for all in authority;that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness & honesty.1 Tim 2:2.It is important to pray for the rulers & those who are in authority.it is good & acceptable in the sight of God.1 Tim.2:3.
