But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

One Bible Commentary on Psalms 22: 6

1

My brother commented that in those days, there was a red or crimsom colored worm that would reproduce on the bark of a tree and then die, leaving a red stain on the tree. It’s body (blood)would nourish its offspring and when gone, the red stain would turn white. This same worm was used for dye in the clothing of the time.
This sounds much like Isaiah 1:18. Any insight to the red dye worm version as commentary on Ps 22:6?
