Hadley, the significance is David’s cup is overflowing. God has prospered David with enough blessings to carry out his purpose in life. As David holds the cup, pouch or vessel, David recalls Samuel anointed him to be King after Saul. He recognizes God is preparing the way for him to be King in the presence of his enemies. David is physically, mentally, and spiritually ready to fulfill his destiny. Every believer has a cup.
