3 Bible Commentaries on Psalms 37: 23

3

THE STEPS FOR US TO FOLLOW ARE WRITTEN IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURES and if one lacks reading comprehension or is not well familiar with the WORD, can such a man be considered GOOD? However sincere he is and prayerful he can be, WITHOUT THE WORD IN HIS HEART, would his STEP be Ordered by the Lord?

A man to be considered good in this case needs to delight in THE WAY-THE WORD-of the Lord-needs to delight himself in Jesus & His Word-if his step are to be ordered by the Lord! Be aware!

If one does not know how to listen and would not hearken to the Holy Scriptures in telling him that he should be ready to LISTEN, slow to speak…can his Step be ordered by the Lord?

Nay, most probably he would be STEPping in the wide road to destuction. He would be going around the roads of Babylon and in his confusion would not even know that he has not come out of the Mother of Harlots! Be aware!

“Steps” is figurative language that describes the course of a person’s life or life’s journey. A “good man” refers to any brave Christian soldier who learns and applies God’s Word to experience. God rewards valor in the Devil’s world by keeping them from evil. He delights in their way. So, He directs and orders their steps and brings stability into their lives.

Many Christians today live chaotic lives. They fail to apply God’s promises. They lack discipline to learn and apply God’s Word to experience. They live day-to-day with fears and worries. As they move through the various stages of life they stumble and fall at every turn. Their steps in the Christian way of life are never firm or secure. No person can understand their journey through life if unfamiliar with God’s ways?
