In Psalms 50,God is portrayed as the judge. One day ,very soon, our Lord Jesus Christ will come as the great King & Judge. In this Psalm it was His people who were judged first.Secondly,He judges the wicked people, who know the commandments of the Lord but does not keep them. They disobeyed Him and violated the rules prescribed by Him.They sin against God and fellowmen. They forget God.Their priorities are not in the right order.God promises deliverance to those people(vs 14,15)who pray to God,praise Him and obey Him.But God warns that deliverance will not be given to them who disobey His commandments.Nobody can rescue them.We see in verse 22 that God is gracious &merciful. He gives opportunity to repent. In this God is giving opportunities again and again for the people to repent. But one day,on ‘Great White Throne Judgment Day” Jesus will judge every person. He will judge the believers for their works and they will be rewarded but the unrighteous will be judged and will have eternal punishment. They will be sent to hell. This is the day of Salvation.God will forgive those who will accept Him as His Saviour and make a decision to live for Him &His glory.Jesus has paid the penalty for our sins on the Cross. If the reader has not yet made a decision to accept Jesus as Saviour, this is is an opportunity for you.
