4)It is said that the crew of Apollo 8 has showed the photos of the Earth & the Moon from the space in a live television broadcast on Christmas Eve in 1968 as they read the first 10 verses from Genesis chapter 1.
5)Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the Moon on July 21,1969.
Another astronaut Aldrin who walked on the Moon later has said on a television broadcast on July 23,1969 that a verse from psalms has come to his mind.”When I consider the heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon & the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, thou art mindful of him?..”
It is said that he has written out this portion of Psalms 8 & left it on the moon.
6)It is said that the Astronaut Mitchell carried the microfilm Bible to the Moon in Apollo 14 in 1971.
7)”The moon & stars to rule by night;for thy mercy endureth forever.”Let us praise God who has created the moon & the stars.

1)Moon is the only natural satellite of the Earth. It rotates on its axis.It orbits around the earth making one revolution in about a month’s time.We can always see only the same surface of the Moon.We cannot see the other side of the surface. It is illuminated by the Sun & reflects light to the Earth. The Psalmist does not mention the Sun in this verses.
2)It is said that we can count only 4800 to 6000 stars with our naked eye.
Jer.33:22 says that the host of heaven cannot be numbered. The Sun is one of the stars in the Milky Way Galaxy which has about 200 billion stars. It is said that there are about 100,000,000,000 galaxies each having 10,000,000 to 1,000,000,000,000 stars. It is wonderful.Isn’t it?
3)”The work of thy fingers”-It is an expression of the Power of God.Please see Ex.8:19 &Luke 11:20.Let us admire the Creative Power of God.
