)In Psalm 8,the psalmist David recapitulates the account of creation of man in poetic form.It is based on Genesis 1.
)Man was given dominion over the rest of the creation. The authority to rule over the other creatures was bestowed upon man.Man was made with the faculties of mind, emotion & will & was different from other creatures in position & capacity.
)”all things”-In verses 7& 8,David has explained.Man was given dominion over all sheep, oxen, the beasts of the field, the birds of the air & the fish of the sea & all the living creatures of the seas.Read Gen.1;26,28.
)Because of sin,man has lost the privilege of ruling over the rest of the creation.
)The writer of Hebrews has used the quotations from Psalm 8 to show the superiority of Jesus Christ over the angels.Jesus Christ has died on the Cross to regain the rulership lost by man.Read Eph.1:22,23;1 Cor.15:25-27.
