7 Bible Commentaries on Revelation 22: 17
AR 955. Verse 17. And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come, signifies that heaven and the church desire the Lord‘s coming. By “the Spirit” is signified heaven, by “the Bride” the church, and by “saying, Come” is signified to desire the Lord’s coming. That the New Church, which is the holy Jerusalem, is meant by “the Bride,” is evident from (Apoc. 21:2, 9, 10; n. 881, 895); and that by “the Spirit” is meant heaven, is, because the angelic spirits are meant, of whom the New Heaven is to be formed, concerning whom above (Apoc. 14:1-7; 19:1-9; 20:4, 5). By the church, which is here called “the Bride,” is not meant the church consisting of those who are in falsities of faith, but the church consisting of those who are in truths of faith, for these desire light, consequently the Lord‘s coming, as above (n. 954).
In the bible some things have multiple meanings. Temple=Jesus/us Lamb=Jesus/us
Bride? in one verse it is us…but in Revelations 22:17 it refers to God. Only God can give eternal life. So the Bride refers to the wife of our Heavenly Father, which would be our Heavenly Mother. The nature of things teaches us that life comes through mother. Humans, animals…even plants have male and female. Physical life is given through mothers, therefore this is God’s Will to show us that eternal life is given through our Heavenly Mother.
Romans 1:20
Rev. 22:17
Rev.21:9
Gal. 4:26
Gen1:26-27
Though the book of Revelation deals with future events, I believe Revelation 22 is a message for the church age, more or less.
As for the identity of the bride, I give you the verse below
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27).
It’s important to remember that Israel is the wife of God and the church is the bride of Christ.
Can you prove that the Bride in this verse stands for the Church? If yes, can I know the verse? You can go through Revelation 19 and 21 to understand about the Bride. Will be waiting for your response.
Thanks & Regards,
Patricia.

Thanks for your reply Jason. But let me tell you that the Bride in this verse does not stand for the Church and water of life stands for eternal life (John:13-14) But obvious Revelation speaks abou the last days. Only God has the authority to give us eternal life, But here the Spirit as well the Bride is giving us water of life(eternal life) so the Bride also has to be God. If we want eternal life the we should know who is the Bride who is going to appear in the last days to give us life. So what do you thin about this verse now?

Yes, the Bride means the true Church. The Church is called the Bride of the Lamb. The relationship between the Christ and His Church is described in marital terms. (Revelation 19:7; 21:9;Ephesian 5:22-32).
But the intepretation of “the Spirit” as the heaven indicating angels is not convincing. The Spirit is in sigular and not plural. We cannot therefore take it as angels. In concluding the seven messages to the seven churches in chapter 2 and 3,the phrase is repeated ” He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” By the Spirit is clearly meant to be the Holy Spirit of God.The Holy spirit indewlls the bride. Jesus is in heaven. How would the angels shout, “come Lord Jesus?”
