The seven seals bear a close relationship to our Lord’s explicit prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem in Mat. 24, Mark 13 & Luke 21. We can therefore see the seals as the Lord revealing both the destruction of Jerusalem, and the opening up of the Gospel to “all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues.” (7:9)
