Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ!!! To be a slave of anyone was the worst imaginable state for any Jew, much less a Pharisee and an ex-member of the inner circle of the Jewish ruling class. How difficult it would be to admit the shame of it to anyone, yet Paul boasts of his status with out Lord. Our presidents of all time have never admitted to even being a servant of the people, yet here is one of the greatest intellects of his day saying “I love being a slave of Jesus”. Oh,to be that submissive to Christ, worth all of the gold, silver and precious jewels on earth.

Called to be an apostle, in no way was he going to depart from the duties of an apostle. Paul admits to the world that he had been set apart from other works of the world and set for the gospel of GOD. In one way he had worked as a slave against the gospel of GOD, now it was high time he show the world that he was a changed person by accepting to be JESUS CHRIST’s servant. Here Paul is lifting up his master’s name ‘JESUS CHRIST’ and humbling himself which a servant has to do before his master. ‘Humble your self before the LORD…he will lift you up’
