For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Chris (Post #1): A few thoughts . . .

Love for Jesus Christ is not instant or automatic. Believers must focus on studying and applying God’s Word to experience. It is the greatest form of worship. Find a Pastor-Teacher at a local church whose authority you can respond to, and whose focus is the uncompromised teaching of God’s Word.

The Apostle Paul went from persecuting Christians unashamedly to witnessing to unbelievers unashamedly. In the former instance, Paul knew why he persecuted Christians. In the latter instance, Paul knew why he witnessed passionately to unbelievers. So, it is knowledge of God’s Word and applying God’s Word to experience (wisdom) that makes the difference between feeling ashamed and not feeling ashamed in telling others about Christ. Occupation with the person of Jesus Christ keeps us focused on Him, not on self, and solves all problems.

paul was not ashamed being a christian and spreading the gospel. how come that i am often ashamed among my peers to be a christian? most of my peers don’t believe in god or don’t take the bible serious. i wish i had the power to help them but i think i am to weak myself. i prayed to god several times but i don’t see any change yet. i don’t know what to do. i feel really bad about this.
