1. She knew she was beautiful in spite
a. Of being stared at for NOT
b. Being in vogue with the fashionable
c. Pale-white Jerusalem city girls
2. She could NOT take care of herself
a. As she was too busy
b. Taking care of her brothers
c. Who treated her harshly
3. Additional Notes:
a. There is NO mention of her father
i. And it appears she was raised by her brothers
b. The name ABISHAG in Hebrew means:
i. “My father is a wanderer”
c. This perhaps gives further credence
i. That she is Solomon’s love interest
ii. In this song of songs
4. Our wives know we are turned on by SIGHT
a. And there are some very attractive
b. Women in the world
c. Who CAN spend a lot of time
d. Making themselves look attractive
5. Women tend to get judged by how they look
a. And they many times
b. Beat themselves up over it
6. But ladies, take a lesson from this woman
a. And do NOT beat yourself up
b. Over things you can NOT change
7. And men, we need to ENCOURAGE our wives
a. Let them know we are PROUD of them
b. That they are beautiful
c. And STILL the apple of our eye
