Song of Solomon 4: 13 Commentary

1. All of the sexual WONDERS
a. That are a WOMAN
b. Are now opened to Solomon
2. He describes the sexual union
a. As pleasant and fruitful
3. Additional Notes:
a. May I STRONGLY encourage men and women
i. To remain VIRGINS
ii. Until you are married
b. Your conscience will be clear
i. And there is NO shame
ii. Baggage or fear involved
c. You will both be awkward and shy
i. But it will be a lot of fun
ii. As you both explore sex
iii. For the very FIRST time
d. May I ALSO encourage those
i. Who are NOT virgins
e. Yes, there may be GUILT and SHAME
i. As well as consequences
ii. And baggage with which
iii. You will have to deal
f. There may also be FEAR as well
i. Fear of comparison to a previous partner
ii. Inadequacy that you will not be as good
g. But God is a God
i. Of GRACE, MERCY
ii. And SECOND CHANCES
h. He can and will restore
i. Your sexual purity
ii. And enjoyment in a marriage
i. Your “fleshly nature” may give you fits
i. Regarding the mistakes of your past
j. But you will BOTH
i. Need to commit yourselves totally
ii. Into the GRACE of God
iii. And He WILL bless you BOTH
