My response to post # 1: Leah had bought Jacob with the mandrakes of her son’s. Jacob slept with Leah that night. god hearkened unto leah and she bore Jacob Issachar. ( Genesis 30: 14-18) Did Leah exercised witchcraft in getting jacob in exchange for Mandrakes? How come that God hearken to Leah then?
Here in Song of Songs, there is only a reference to mandrakes not any reference to its use. Is there witchcraft involved? I don’t think so. At the most we can say that since mandrakes may be useful in sexual arousal, it can be said that the lover calls her beloved making sex appeal! This is the right time, ripe time for you to come. it is spring time.

Where in the text do you read that Solomon used hallucinogenic drugs?

TOPIC: Mandrake- (Taken from Wici-Pedia) “….mandrake contains deliriant hallucinogenic tropane alkaloids such as atropine, scopolamine, apoatropine, hyoscyamine and the roots sometimes contain bifurcations causing them to resemble human figures, their roots have long been used in magic rituals, today also in neopagan religions such as Wicca and Germanic revivalism religions such as Odinism.”
Witchcraft is mentioned in the ‘deeds of the flesh verses in Galatians.
Gal. 5:19-20a 19. The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and WITCHCRAFT;
The use of these hallucinogenic drugs (for recreation) is considered witchcraft.
If we follow Solomon’s example we will fail in our Christian walk.
Notice Solomon, as important in Jewish history as he was, is not mentioned in the ‘faith chapter’ of Hebrews 11.
